Services

The Technology and Instructional Computing Department is dedicated to creating pathways to technology adoption for both faculty and students at Northwest College. We stand ready to offer our technical expertise and creative talent in creating efficiencies through enhanced use of technology so that faculty can focus on the central mission of the college: Teaching and Learning.

Administration

The department administration is dedicated to coordinating efforts within the Technology and Instructional Computing Department at Northwest College and between the various parts of the Northwest College community. The department also acts as a key coordinator with district technology services.

Assistive Technology

The Assistive Technology department works closely with Student Services and faculty to ensure that students requiring technology for ADA accommodations are supported at all times. This department also maintains a mini-lab at the Spring Branch campus to assist those students requiring additional assistance.

Curriculum Innovation Centers

The Curriculum Innovation Centers (CICs) at Katy and Spring Branch campuses have a central mission of encouraging technology adoption by faculty. They do this through training classes, technology workshops, assistance with projects, and the creation of training materials for faculty.

Open Computer Labs

The Open Computer Labs at the Katy and Spring Branch campuses provide key technology support for our students to support student success as well as the online enrollment and registration process. Lab personnel also provide training opportunities for students and faculty as well as manage group technology learning spaces at both locations.

Technical Support

Our technical support team is dedicated to maintaining the technology infrastructure necessary for successful technology adoption. They provide support for all instructional computing systems (instructional applications, instructional labs, Open Labs, multimedia classrooms, CICs, and adjunct workrooms).
